Our continued success at Santander Consumer stems from the talented individuals who make up our team. Today we’re catching up with Bela Coutinho, our Continuous Improvement & Oversight Manager within our leasing division.
Can you tell us about your Santander Consumer history?
I joined Santander Consumer UK at the beginning of 2023 and have since had the privilege of contributing to growing the Contract Hire division performance. Over the years, I’ve grown professionally, while gaining insight into the evolving automotive and financial sectors. Santander Consumer has provided me with numerous opportunities to develop, take on new challenges, and contribute to the company’s customer-focused mission.
What about your career background? How did you end up in your current role?
I have spent most of my professional career in the automotive Industry, and I have had the pleasure to observe this from the point of view of an OEM, an agency and now a FS provider. I began my journey working for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK, working in the Fleet & Business department. I left the group to pursue other opportunities whilst being an executive responsible for all brands (Fiat, Fiat Pro, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Jeep).
In this time, I worked closely to a range of financial service provider’s Sales & Marketing teams to ensure the successful launch of promotional campaigns. I then joined Blueprint Partners, working as Account Manager for Porsche. I covered client and project management, campaign development and had the opportunity to join the international launch of the Porsche Taycan. These diverse experiences have equipped me with the expertise necessary to thrive in my current role within SCUK. This journey has been one of continuous learning and growth.
Can you describe your role in the Contract Hire division? How does it help ensure a great experience for customers?
As part of the Contract Hire division, my role involves liaising with a range of teams throughout the business, including Marketing, Risk, Legal and Customer Services. Through critical thinking and problem solving, I ensure projects are done in a timely manner, always putting the customers’ needs first.
What motivates you within your current role?
